Found is an international organisation, driven by the love of Christ.
We walk alongside women who have experienced devastating trauma, guiding them on a transformative journey towards wholeness, reconciliation, and interdependence.
We believe in restoring dignity and building supportive communities led from within, where women can discover their true worth and thrive in their God-given identity.
Driven by a deep conviction to help women understand their value , Hannie travelled to the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2019 to witness firsthand the challenges facing women in a region devastated by conflict. What she encountered, the stories of pain and survival the women shared, stirred something profound within her. She refused to accept that survival could be their whole story. She knew God was able to intervene and bring restoration. This conviction ignited her mission: restoring women's identity through psychological tools and biblical truths.
Drawing on her background as a social worker specialising in post-traumatic stress, she developed an interactive group program and piloted it with 50 women in 2021. The results were nothing short of miraculous: stories of profound healing, radical forgiveness, and reconciled families.
Today, Found continues to expand its reach, training local leaders and empowering women to break cycles of trauma and poverty, creating hope for a new generation.
Since marrying Fabrice in 2023, Hannie and her family have been based in the DRC, deepening their commitment to walking alongside the women and communities they serve.
To ensure our programs are locally led and sustainable in Eastern Congo, Found partnered with Un Jour Nouveau (UJN), a local Congolese NGO.
In 2023, we reached an exciting milestone when Rachel joined us as Found's first full-time employee. As our dedicated on-the-ground program assistant, she delivers our programs, empowers and mentors local leaders, and carefully monitors progress to ensure lasting transformation in the lives of the women we serve.
