We believe every woman has inherent dignity and untapped potential. We walk alongside women who have experienced devastating trauma, guiding them through transformative group programs where they discover their worth, awaken their talents, and together build lasting resilience. As they heal and grow, they become beacons of hope and inspiration in their communities.
Because every mess carries a message!
The majority of Found's work takes place in Eastern Congo, where decades of civil war and widespread conflict have shattered families and communities. Countless women have experienced profound trauma and violence, including sexual and gender-based violence from both the war and within their own households. This ongoing trauma has deeply distorted their sense of self-worth, identity, and faith.
Since 2021, we've been working in Eastern Congo in partnership with Un Jour Nouveau (UJN), a local Congolese NGO, through comprehensive programs that address the emotional, spiritual, and practical needs of women and their families. What began as a program for 50 women has grown to reach hundreds each year, expanding to encompass entire families and communities.
We know that true transformation touches every part of a woman's life – it requires spiritual and emotional healing, but it must also include economic empowerment to break cycles of poverty and dependency. And in a context where toxic masculinity prevails, we realised healing isn't complete until we also engage the men in women's lives. Since 2023, through UJN's programs, we've been working with husbands, partners, sons, and fathers, ensuring women can return to homes where respect and restoration continue to grow.
